Margie Arm

Coach Margie Arm has coached girls’ volleyball for 38 years. Her high school volleyball teams have earned district, region and or state tournament post-season play in all but 2 of 25 seasons. 90 of her HS players received all-league, division, region, and/or all-state honors. Coach Arm's former players have gone on to play at every collegiate level and some have made names for themselves as high school, club or college coaches.  

She also served as an assistant volleyball coach at Southwestern Michigan College and assisted at Western Connecticut State University - But she always returned to the high school & middle school age groups that she's always loved coaching the most.

 

In 2010 Coach Arm founded and directed GPS CRUSH Volleyball in where she coached 13’s. 14’s, 15’s 15’s 16’s, 17’s, 17’s, 18’s and 15’s.  In 2017 she decided to close GPS CRUSH and she then became a part of EC Power. Since with ECP, she has coached our Bucks 16-1s and 13-1s teams. 

 

Since coming to PA, she founded & directed Ridge Juniors coaching 15s, 16,s and 17’s there and coached Del Val 14s, 15’s and 16’s, and Infinity Volleyball Academy 14s, 15’s and 16s.  Coach Arm coached at Pennridge HS for 6 years where they won the division and swept all league 1st team in 2002 and she coached at Central Bucks East for 4 years from 2009-2012.

 

While in Connecticut, she coached at Brookfield HS for 6 years, winning 3/6 WAC League championships and made 6/6 CT state tournament appearances, losing in the state semi- final in their best run. She directed & coached for Danbury (CT) Juniors 13’s, 14,’s, 15’s and coached Nutmeg State Games. Coach Arm also coached Brookfield high school Tennis for 3 years. In 1992, Arm's Brookfield tennis team broke Joel Barlow high schools 8 year 120 game conference winning streak.

 

While in Michigan, she coached USA Michigan Juniors and Lawton HS for 3 years where they won 3/3 SAC Conference championships and a District Championship. She coached at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix HS for 6 years where she competed directly against her former college VB coach, Jack Magelssen, who is our nation’s winningest high school volleyball coach and a perennial MHSAA State champion.  While coaching at Loy Norrix, her team broke Magelssen’s 8 year conference winning streak at Portage Northern.  She also spent 6 years coaching middle school volleyball and track & field while in Kalamazoo & Portage MI.   

 

As a player, Arm played collegiate volleyball for Jack Magelssen and then played collegiate tennis (at 26) at two different small schools, played as a high school player in Portage, MI as an OH/MB and as an adult played a zillion local indoor sixes and doubles and USAV indoor sixes, beach doubles and grass doubles tournaments. In high school she ran boys cross country (there was no girks team) and her volleyball was secondary to her track career running mostly the 400, anchoring the state qualifying mile relay, 200, 800, high jump and long jump possessing a 28” vertical that served her well for volleyball.

 

In addition to coaching club at EC Power, Arm teaches Volley Tech instructional volleyball programs for Warwick Township and runs EC Power Summer Middle School Camps & clinics and she owns & operates a promotional products /corporate gift business, She and her husband, Matthew have 2 daughters Kelsey & Natalie. Kelsey lives & works in Lakeland, FL and Natalie will be a Senior on the Susquehanna University volleyball team. Both Matthew and Natalie also coach at EC Power Volleyball.
